The base of this dip is a creamy mix of softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, creating a smooth and luscious texture. To add a punch of flavor, I’ve packed in sharp cheddar cheese, garlic, and the classic Old Bay seasoning that brings out that perfect seafood flavor. Worcestershire sauce and fresh lemon juice add a hint of tang, while a dash of hot sauce (optional, of course!) gives it just the right amount of kick. To finish it off, I stirred in finely chopped chives for a burst of freshness and a pop of color.

This Crab Dip Recipe is creamy and slightly spicy. The next time you need a dip for a party, make this the one!
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 & 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 teaspoons old bay seasoning
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh squeezed
- 1/4 cup finely chopped chives plus more for garnish
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce optional
- 1 pound lump crab meat drained
Instructions
Prepare your smoker and preheat to 250°F.
In a large bowl, whip the cream cheese until smooth with an electric hand mixer. Add the sour cream and mayonnaise, mix until smooth. Add 1 cup of the cheese, garlic, old bay, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, chives, and optional hot sauce, mix until smooth. Add the crab meat and fold it in gently, trying not to break up the crab.
Spread the mixture into an 8 to 9-inch baking dish or cast-iron skillet. Top with the remaining cheese. Smoke for 1 & ½ to 2 hours until bubbly, the cheese is melted, and it is slightly golden on top. Serve immediately with a garnish of more chives with your favorite dippers!
